Three Arrested in New Waverly Robbery Investigation

by WCSO staff

Earlier this year on Sunday, January 7, 2018, Walker County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to two robberies that had occurred simultaneously in the 9000 block of Highway 75 South and 100 block of Highway 150 West. Three suspects were observed leaving the area in a dark colored 4 door passenger vehicle that was driven by a fourth suspect.

In the weeks following, similar robberies occurred in surrounding counties including Liberty, Chambers, Jefferson and Montgomery. Investigators from each Sheriff’s Office along with Dayton Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, worked together to develop and identify multiple suspects. With the assistance of all agencies involved, three suspects have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery.

The investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected. Further information will be released once the investigation has been completed.

The FBI is expected to present charges to the United States Attorney’s Office and seeking Federal Charges on all the suspects.

Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae would like to thank the FBI and all the agencies who assisted in this investigation.
