Sheriff’s Office: 2 Arrested, Charged with Capital Murder

On Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:51 PM Walker County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress call in the 2300 block of FM 247.  When deputies arrived they found a deceased white female inside the residence and discovered that the victim was the homeowner.  The victim has been identified as Jackie Fails, 67 years of age, from Huntsville.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and from the Walker County District Attorney’s Office have charged the two individuals with Capital Murder.  The two men are identified as Thomas Owens, 47, and Michael Robinson, 42, both of Houston, Texas.  Both suspects have been arrested and are currently being held at the Walker County jail on the charge of capital murder with no bond.

The investigation is still ongoing.  Agencies assisting with the investigation are:  Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, Walker County District Attorney’s Office.
