May 9th Trinity ISD Bond Election to include voters in northern Walker County.
Along the northern edge of Walker County lies an area commonly knows as Barnes Switch. This community, situated within Walker County, is also within the boundaries of the Trinity Independant School District.
On May 9th those Walker County voters will go to the polls to help decide the hotly contested TISD $15.7M Bond election.
Supporters of the bond say that it will bring much-needed improvements to the district, citing the proposed culinary arts facilities, sciencs labs, and health science facilities as necessary.
Bond opponents say that the bond package includes mostly non-academic spending and focuses too much on extra-curricular expenses including a $5Million auditorium.
Both sides of have launched social media campaigns in addition to the many “Vote Yes” and “Vote No” signs that can be found throughout the downtown Trinity area.
