  • Construction worker experience (2 years)
  • Volunteer Firefighter (4 years)

  • Eagle Scout

As someone that has spent decades working in both the public and private sectors, I have a broad range of relevant work experience. Bringing together an appreciation of systems and policies with an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation gives me an opportunity to address issues with new solutions. Years of working as part of team have taught me the value of utilizing good communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Our small business has provided me with experience in planning, budgeting, and work supervision.

Relevant Education/Training:

  • East Central High School Graduate – 1980
  • TSTI Graduate – 1983

For the last four years, I have been involved in the planning of the Facilities and Maintenance budget of Alpha Omega Academy. All four of these years, Facilities and Maintenance has come in under budget.

Previous political involvement or activities:
I was one of many who fought for the property rights of Walker County residents when the state attempted to seize private property through imminent domain for the I-69 Trans Texas Corridor. This was accomplished with small group informational meetings and discussions with county residents to make them aware of what, and how the Texas Trans Corridor would affect them and our county, as well as meeting with TxDot in Walker and surrounding counties.

If elected, what do you hope to accomplish in the next 4 years as Precinct 1 Commissioner?
I want to protect the people of Walker County from unnecessary taxation and regulation.
I believe our government should operate within its means. We do this by coming in under budget just as businesses do in the private sector. It’s the taxpayers’ money and the government should be using it wisely. I want to be a good steward of the taxpayers’ money and assets. When working through the budget I will always watch for duplication and wasteful spending.
I want more fiscal transparency and want to give the public a greater opportunity to participate in their county government. We should be using technology to let people know what’s going on with their tax money and with Commissioners’ Court.
It is vital that proper planning take place in preparation for the growth that is coming to our area. Growth and development will continue in Walker County and our county should have a plan for that growth. Proper planning can help to insure that Walker County can maintain quality services even while expanding those services to accommodate new residents and businesses Streamlining departments and operations should result in both cost savings and fewer bureaucratic hurdles for residents, businesses, and developers.

What would you like for voters to know about you and/or your campaign?
Walker County is a wonderful place to call home. People are relocating here and new businesses are opening here. My family and I care about the long-term future of this county and I want to work hard to make sure that this continues to be a great place to live, work, and play.
I am passionate about being the Commissioner of Pct. 1 and representing the residents of Precinct 1 and all of Walker County. I am decisive, determined and dependable!

How can voters reach you if they have additional questions?
