Walker County Precinct 3 Commissioner Submits Resignation

Immediately after the adjournment of today’s abbreviated Commissioners’ Court meeting, County Judge Danny Pierce announced that Commissioner Bobby Warren had a statement to make.

Precinct 3 Commissioner Bobby Warren announced that he is resigning his office effective April 30th and will be retiring.  Warren thanked Pierce and Pct 1 Commissioner BJ Gaines for “past good sessions” and, when asked, said that he would not be returning to Court for the afternoon continuation of the morning’s meeting.

Warren issued a brief statement regarding his resignation and retirement but made no mention of his recent legal issues resulting from his DWI conviction and subsequent jail sentence and driver’s license suspension.  Several citizens that were attending the Court said afterward that they believed Warren’s decision to leave the Court is the direct result of the recently filed Petition for Mr. Warren’s removal from office by local citizen Clint Wade.

County Judge Danny Pierce now has the sole discretion to appoint Warren’s replacement for the remainder of his unexpired term.  Precinct 3 residents Bill Daugette and Bill Tutor have both previously announced their intention to seek the 2015 March Republican primary nomination for this office.
