Loved family, holidays
Patricia “Patsy” Lewis, 82, died December 16, 2018 surrounded by family.
Services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at 2 p.m at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Dr., Huntsville, TX with burial in theAdickes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery.
Those who knew Patsy knew that she was one sassy, determined woman. The only thing she loved more than her stories (soap operas) was her family, though that was debatable during the 12pm-3pm hour when they were on. She loved to cook and host her family for the holidays. In fact, she began prepping her annual Thanksgiving and Christmas meals a good week in advance so that everything was just so!
Despite her love for holiday-hosting, she was probably the only person in the world who put away their Christmas decorations on Christmas Day (she would say, “I have to get this mess cleaned up by noon.”), but it sure was festive the day before.
Patsy also loved crocheting and making puff-paint shirts, reading romance novels, visiting with friends and family for hours on end, attending every Fostoria reunion or any other social gathering of yesteryear, the Gaither’s, traveling, and a slot machine. She made the best fried pies, chicken and dumplings, and cornbread, took in her granddaughters’ friends as her own, kept the cleanest house, and loved every pet her family brought home.
Patsy was brave, resilient, and funny, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Lewis; her son, Danny Wayne Lewis; her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Edgar Lewis; and her precious dog, Pebbles. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Lewis; her granddaughters, Jennifer King and Lindsay Lewis; and her great-grandchildren, Jolee and Brayden Stone.
