Obituary for Patricia Ann Lemmer

Patricia Ann Wood Lemmer passed away peacefully at home in Huntsvilleon Oct.22, 2018 with her family by her side at the age of 84.

Patricia was born on July 16, 1934 in LaSalle, IL. to Albert and Edna Wood. She attended Mendota High School in Mendota, IL and met the love of her life, Leroy. They were soon married and were married for 57 years until Leroy passed away in 2009.

Patricia is survived by her eight children: sons: William Lemmer (Mary), Marty Lemmer (Brenda), Steve Lemmer (LeAnn), all of Illinois, and daughters: Pamela Churin (Thomas), Deb Lemmer, Cindy Goodwin, Lori Hankins (James), all from Huntsville, TX. and Sandra Brown ( Kevin) from Illinois: 25 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a brother: Phil Wood (Barb) from Illinois, a sister-in-law: Sharon Wood, from Lincoln, CA. and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leroy Lemmer, parents: Albert and Edna Wood, brothers: Allen and Gerald Wood, sister: Nancy Schiefelbein, sons-in-law: Richard Pinon, Sr., and Jack Goodwin, Sr., grandsons: Richard Pinon, Jr., and Jeff Goodwin and Joan Sheridan her dear friend and co-worker for many years.

Patricia was an outreach worker for Tri County Opportunity Council in Sterling, IL. for almost 30 yrs. Patricia was a hard worker dedicated to helping those who were in need. She was strong willed, loving and kind. If you needed something and she had it, she would have given it to you. Patricia lived an unselfish sacrificial life for her eight children, which we are so grateful for and will never forget.

Patricia was a born again Christian who gave her life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Huntsville, TX. You are cordially invited to attend a celebration of Patricia’s life on Thursday October 25, 2018 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX from 6-8pm. Services will be held on Friday October 26, 2018 at First Assembly of God, 3122 Montgomery Rd., Huntsville, TX at 2:00pm with Rev. John Gaston officiating. A private burial will follow.

Pallbearers are: William Lemmer, Tim Lemmer, Josh Lemmer, Jacob Lemmer, Jason Goodwin and Matt Mekeel. Honorary Pallbearers are: Tom Churin, James Hankins, Jack E. Goodwin and Kevin Brown.

We, the family would like to thank the wonderful people at Thee Hospice, Jackie from D.A.D.S., Marlene and Stacey for helping us take such wonderful care of our dear Mother. Also, we were extremely Blessed to have a wonderful friend, Barbara Colson, who donated her time and energy just because she loved our Mother. A special thanks to Dr. Wells for taking care of our Mother for all these years.
