Obituary for James Morris Hare, Jr.

Former Walker County Precint 4 Road Department employee

Services for James Morris Hare, Jr. of New Waverly, TX, will be conducted Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with Leigha Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in East Sandy cemetery in New Waverly. Visitation will be The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
James was born on Feb. 22, 1953 in Huntsville, TX to James Morris Hare, Sr and Rachel W. (Pool) Hare. He passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 31, 2018 surrounded by family.
James grew up in New Waverly where he attended New Waverly High School and played football. Throughout his life, he was an outdoorsman, loved nature, bird watching, hunting and fishing. He also had a fondness for all animals, especially his cat, Sox and dog, Sparky. James had a very patriotic soul and loved his country and honored the men and woman who protected it.
James was a dedicated employee of Walker County Road Department, Precinct 4 from 1980-2000 where he met lifelong friends. His kind heart and sweet smile will be greatly missed. James was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Rachel Hare.
He is urvived by his loving family: sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Storm Ruffin; brother, Arthur Hare; nephew, Ryan Ruffin and wife, Leigha; great nephew, Jace Ruffin; niece, Christine Ruffin; niece, Fawnna Wolfe; numerous caring other relatives and friends also survived.
Pallbearers will be Joe Whitley, Joe Young, Bonner Hoeser, Ronnie McSwain, Storm Ruffin, and Corey McNutt. Honorary pallbearers: Ryan and Jace Ruffin and Ricky Little.
