Visitation will be today from noon until 4 p.m. (Wednesday, Aug. 22) at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home for Elizabeth Anne Dilliard, 72, of Huntsville. She passed away on Aug. 19. She was born in Walker County, Texas on March 30, 1934 to Jake Uther McMillian and Maudine Ingram McMillian.


Elizabeth was a dedicated member of Pine Prairie Free Will Baptist Church until her falling health forced her to stay home. She worked as a registered nurse for many years. As a young mother she was able to devote the energy and love to each of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending the kids sporting events.


Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Patricia Murray, Cheryl Kelley and husband David and Lacee Dilliard; son Mike Murray and wife Kym; sister Shirley Lilliard and husband Joe; brother Steve McMillian and wife Marion; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and special friend Ruby the Dapple Dachshund. She is preceded in death by her parents Jake and Maudine McMillian; and brother Francis James Lawrence.


Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23 in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Pine Prairie Free Will Baptist Cemetery.
