Practiced dentistry in Willis 45 years

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1135 US Hwy 190 East, Huntsville, for Dr. Thomas G. Lee, DDS, 75, who died peacefully at home in Trinity Oct. 7 with Jimmie, the love of his life, by his side.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.

He was born on September 21, 1943, in Call, Texas, and graduated Valedictorian from Kirbyville High School in 1962 then Lamar University in 1966, and University of Texas Dental School in 1970. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972 and then practiced dentistry in Willis from 1972 until his retirement in 2017.

As pillar of the community, Dr. Lee offered his support to numerous organizations. He touched countless lives through the magic of dentistry and his boundless generosity. He gave people their smiles back, sometimes in exchange for fresh produce, homemade salsa, or just because he wanted to make a difference.

He was preceded in death by his parents Selma A. (Bunk) Lee and Wanda Glenn Lee, his sister Glenda Phillips and brother Kenneth Lee. He is survived by his wife Jimmie Nell Lee, brothers Jerry Lee (Lana) of Magnolia Springs and Terry Lee (Eunice) of Kirbyville, son Michael Lee (Kathrine) of Mount Vernon, daughters Barbara Hand (John) of Victoria, Mandy Brock (Tommy) of Spring, and Ashley McDonald (Mace) of Round Rock, grandchildren Corryn, Logan, Hannah, Alek Thomas, Samantha, Charlie, Nick, Joe, Zac, Luke, Alex, Drew, Jack, Devin and Knox, along with many beloved nephews, nieces, and friends who were just like family.

Dr. Lee’s family wish to extend deepest gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, chaplains and staff of Traditions Hospice of Crockett and Hospice Source Medical Equipment of Lufkin.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Lee would like for you to consider a donation to Pure Hope Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit founded by their son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathrine, for the purpose of strengthening families and restoring survivors of sex trafficking.
