Wynne Home Fall Activities Continue

The following classes began on Monday, October 12 and will end Saturday, November 21.

BUILDING WITH CLAY: Students will be given a general project guideline that they can make into their own interpretation. They will learn basic hand building techniques to accomplish proposed projects, as well as glazing.

CALLIGRAPHY: Students will learn different writing styles and decorative techniques that will be used for creating holiday cards and envelopes.

MOMMY & ME: INTRO TO ART: A six week class designed to expose young children to the art experience and stimulate visual awareness as well as hand-eye coordination. Both child and adult will create their own works of art side by side while inspired by artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keefe.

OIL PAINTING: Oil painting is intended as a class for adults at any level of accomplishment, from beginning to advanced. It is taught by a full-time professional artist with over thirty years of experience.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Students will learn to use digital cameras with various focal lengths and zoom. This class is for non–professionals only. Bring your own film or digital camera.


BATIK CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS: Students will learn the batik process to produce colored designs on textiles by using dye and wax. Students will master the art of batik in creating Christmas themed stockings.

BAKED HOLIDAY GOODIES: Students will make holiday goodies that are suitable for do-it-yourself gifts. Classes will include holiday candy, canning, and cookies.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATING: Students will decorate Christmas themed gingerbread houses and have them on display for the Wynne Home’s annual gingerbread house contest. The winners will receive a prize. Recognition will be at a reception on Friday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m.

CERAMICS OPEN STUDIO: This is a special opportunity for individuals who have basic knowledge of pottery to use the studio and equipment. There will be a skilled facilitator on hand for tips and troubleshooting.

– Dec 4: Gingerbread House Contest and

– Dec. 5: Cider on the porch @ 7:00 p.m.
– Dec. 6: Historic Homes Tour
– Dec. 10-12: Nutcracker Performance
