Students in the National Junior Honor Society at Mance Park Middle School recently prepared “chemo care” bags for local cancer patients. Each of the bags contained a student written letter, lotion, spa socks, candy, mints, puzzle book with pen, and a deck of playing cards. Students, teachers and advisors delivered 25 of the care bags to the North Houston Cancer Clinic located here in Huntsville to help comfort their patients undergoing treatment. Students Taylor Holly, Abby Hooks, and Bailey Lamb accompanied by MPMS teacher and NJHS committee member Amber Bearden are shown here presenting the bags to Dr. Abassi and clinic staff. This project is just one of many community service oriented activities that the Mance Park students and staff participate in each school year.
The NJHS Chapter Advisor at Mance Park is teacher Amy Beers, and the Officers are: President – Namrata Mathew; VP – Bailey Lamb; and Secretary – Taylor Holly.
