Huntsville ISD Announces New Head Coach for Lady Hornet Volleyball

HUNTSVILLE, TX – Wednesday, July 29, 2015

Huntsville ISD announces the hiring of Bobby Conner as the new Huntsville Lady Hornet head volleyball coach for the 2015 season. Following a late summer retirement announcement by former Head Coach Debbie Hightower, the vacancy was quickly posted and a search ensued. HISD’s Girls Athletic Director, Marcus Evans, conducted the interview process and decided Conner was the right fit for the Lady Hornets this season.

“Bobby has coached volleyball in Willis, Navasota, and in Huntsville. While this will be his first stint as a head coach, he has taught and coached many of the team’s current players, and will have a strong staff of assistant coaches to work with,” shared Evans.

Coach Conner is a familiar face to Huntsville High School having served as a Building Trades teacher in the Career & Technology Education Department for the past 7 years. Coach Conner is excited for the opportunity and ready to hit the ground running at Day 1 of the Lady Hornets Volleyball Try-outs that begins at 9 AM next Monday, August 3. The first game action will take place on August 7 as the Lady Hornets will scrimmage at College Park.
