HMB Announces Successes from All-State Band Audition Process

For release: January 21, 2015 (Huntsville) –
Huntsville High School played host to the Region 9 5A All-Region Band Auditions on December 5, 2014. Over 300 students from various 5A schools participated in the audition process, and the Huntsville Hornet Military Marching Band (HMB) placed 16 students in the All-Region Band. Additionally, 7 members of the HMB received a District Patch, which is recognition for those students who just missed making the All-Region Band. 6 HMB students advanced to the Area D auditions for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) 5A AllState Band which is a tremendous honor for these students. TMEA releases the music in late July and the students are given approximately 4 months to learn 3 pieces of music that are taken from college-level books.

All-Region Band Students

Huntsville High School students receiving a District Patch are Octavio Carrillo, Faith Williams, Kelly Gray, Emma Giacomello, Dorothea Hudson, Justin Britt, and Christian Ramos-Williams. Area D Band Students

While HHS didn’t have anyone make it to the state level, the Board of Trustees and District Administration are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of each student participating in the Huntsville Hornet Military Marching Band program and for all of the outstanding accomplishments achieved during both their Marching and Concert seasons. Congratulations on a job well done!
