HISD Proud of Progress – HISD State Accountability Ratings

Huntsville ISD is happy to report that progress was made this year under the state accountability ratings for campuses. Both Stewart and Samuel W. Houston Elementary campuses and the district’s Texas Online Preparatory Middle School (TOPS), that were rated Improvement Required for the 2013-2014 school year, Met Standard for 2014-2015. Huntsville Intermediate, that was rated Improvement Required in Index 2 for 2013-2014, met the standard for Index 2 for 2014-2015, but did not meet standard in Index 3 for 2014-2015, so they will be rated Improvement Required for the 2nd consecutive year. Huntsville High School, Mance Park Middle School, TOPS High School, TOPS Elementary School, Scott Johnson Elementary, and Huntsville Elementary all Met Standard for 2014-2015.

“We are proud of the accomplishments our students made this year and appreciate the hard work of our staff. However, student test scores are not the only representation of our campuses’ or the district’s accomplishments. Huntsville ISD is committed to continuous improvement and providing profound learning environments that engage students with relevant and meaningful work. Additionally, we are proud of all of the accomplishments of our students in other areas outside of the state testing requirements that are also true reflections of the high performance of students,” shared Dr. Howell Wright, HISD Superintendent of Education.
