The Texas Transportation Commission today approved the 2017 Unified Transportation Program (UTP) with $70 billion worth of projects to help TxDOT meet the state’s growing transportation demands.
The Texas Transportation Commission and TxDOT use the Unified Transportation Program (UTP) as TxDOT’s 10-year plan to guide transportation project development.
Included in the UTP are several proposed Walker County projects including:
- Widening I-45 from the Montgomery County line
- Safety improvements along FM 980, State Hwy 75, State Hwy 19, and FM 247
- Sidewalks along State Hwy 75 N, Montgomery Road, and Lake Road
- Improvements to the interchange on State Hwy 75 @ Southwood Drive
