Mandatory Outdoor Water Restrictions Still in Place for Huntsville

City of Huntsville officials are urging residents to halt all outdoor watering until further notice.

The mandatory restrictions are in place to allow for adequate fire flow and water pressure in the event of an emergency situation.
The City is currently blending water from 6 wells until the repair on the 30” raw water transmission line is fixed. The repairs are on schedule to be completed by the end of this week. The City will constantly update our residents on the status of the repairs and situation.
We understand that citizens are experiencing brown water due to the use of the wells. However, this only affects the aesthetics of the water. The water is still safe for drinking and is continuing to meet all drinking water standards. The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has been notified of the situation and is monitoring our system daily.

Please contact the Public Works department at 936-294-5786 with any questions.
