The Huntsville Police Department is looking for a suspect in the investigation of an aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery following a call Sunday evening in the 1300 block of Smither Drive.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, thin/athletic build, with a medium complexion. During the crime, the suspect wore a distinctively marked denim vest that had an image of a tiger head and the words “Crazy Tiger Fighter” on the back and several patches on the front.
HPD officers responded to a burglary in progress call at an apartment complex located in the 1300 block of Smither Drive on Sunday, February 3rd, according to Lt. Curt Landrum. Officers learned through the investigation that a male suspect had forced entry into the victim’s apartment and produced a handgun. The suspect threatened to kill the victim before sexually assaulting and kidnapping her at gunpoint, according to Lt. Landrum.
“The victim was forced to accompany the suspect to several locations in an attempt to withdraw cash,” Lt. Landrum said. “During the ordeal, the suspect repeatedly threatened to kill the victim if she tried to flee.”
All three offenses – aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated robbery – are felonies of the First Degree and carry possible punishments of 5 to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and fines of up to $10,000.
Police Chief Kevin Lunsford asks the community to contact the police or Walker County/Huntsville Crime Stoppers if they have information on the suspect or the offenses.
