Human Remains Investigation Continues

Authorities ask for help from the public


Walker County Sheriff’s Office is continuing with the investigation of the unidentified remains that where found Monday morning, February 13th, 2017. The cause of death at this time is still unknown pending for autopsy.

The victim appears to be a White or Hispanic female, ranging from 25-50 years old, medium stature. She was wearing a dark in color blue/black hoodie, bright yellow pants with a black belt along with white tennis shoes with a bright blue “N” on the side that appear to be New Balance brand.

The Sheriff’s Office Investigators are asking for the public’s help, if anyone may know the identity of the victim please contact Walker County Sheriff’s Office at 936-435-2400 or Crime Stoppers at 936- 294-9494.

Walker County Sheriff’s Office will be releasing more information as it becomes available.

  1. The number of Sheriff’s vehicles both marked and unmarked was amazing. I counted around 15 vehicles and talked to deputies from Hempstead and other parts of Texas. When I asked if we should be wary of a killer or killers on the loose a Walker County Deputy refused to say and told me to leave the area, even though I was on the State ROW and in my vehicle not in the taped off area.

    Other persons traveling down the FM saw folks in haz mat suits and one saw what looked like a body on a gurney.

    Very strange.
