ERS Announces Insurance Premium Increases

The Texas Employees Retirement System (ERS) Board of Trustees has announced that insurance premiums for health and dental insurance are set to increase on September 1st of this year.

This includes monthly premium rates for all types of insurance, as well as the state’s health savings account (HSA) contributions for the new Consumer Directed HealthSelect plan. Rates for HumanaDental DHMO, State of Texas Dental Discount Plan, Optional Term Life Insurance, Dependent Term Life Insurance, Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), and short-term and long-term disability insurance will remain the same in Plan Year 2017.

Health premiums for Medicare-eligible retirees and their dependents will be evaluated prior to the August ERS Board of Trustees meeting and if they change, they will go into effect January 1, 2017.
