ERS will be accepting applications through October 15 to serve on the Group Benefits Advisory Committee (GBAC). The GBAC was created to advise the ERS Board in the planning and development of employee benefits programs for employees and retirees participating in the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program.
Goal: To ensure that state benefit offerings provide value to participants and employers, and remain competitive at a reasonable cost to the members, retirees and their dependents.
The Group Benefits Advisory Committee (GBAC) will help the ERS Board of Trustees achieve this goal. Composed of no more than 11 members appointed by the ERS Board of Trustees, the committee will reflect a diverse cross-section of employers and stakeholder groups that participate in the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP), including:
- state agencies,
- state institutions of higher education,
- health-related institutions and
- insurance or benefit design consultants and professionals.
The committee will meet at least twice a year and provide scheduled reports and feedback to the ERS Board of Trustees. Learn more.
