School Cancelled for Huntsville ISD on Monday, August 28, 2017

by Huntsville ISD

Huntsville ISD facilities have been activated by the Red Cross as emergency shelters to house evacuees from the coastal areas. School in Huntsville ISD has been CANCELLED for Monday, August 28, 2017, due to this action as well as the inclement weather expected for our local area.

District administration will continue to work closely with the Walker County Office of Emergency Management Services throughout the weekend to monitor weather conditions and local impact. School plans for Tuesday and the rest of the week have not yet been made. We hope to make a decision no later than Sunday evening about plans for Tuesday. All decisions will depend on whether or not our facilities are still active shelters as well as the weather conditions within our district. Please be safe and stay connected to the Huntsville ISD communication channels that we have listed on our website at www.huntsville-isd.org for all necessary school district updates.
