Huntsville ISD will be hosting New Student Registration next week. This registration event will be centralized and take place on two different days to accommodate the various work schedules of parents/guardians. Families need to only attend the one date that is most convenient for them. The event will be held in the Huntsville High School Library at 515 FM 2821 E, from 10 AM until 7 PM on Tuesday, August 2, and again on Saturday, August 6, from 8 AM until 12 PM. New Student Registration is intended for any new student to the district entering Prekindergarten through 12th grade, not including students who were enrolled in Gibbs Prekindergarten Center on the last day of the 2015-2016 school year. Parents/guardians need to bring all necessary enrollment documents, shot records and previous school records for each student in order to complete the registration process. Required documentation can be found on the district website at www.huntsville-isd.org. District Administrative staff will verify the information, nurses will verify shot records and then campus stations will have campus related information to share. Representatives will also be on hand from our Child Nutrition Services Department providing information about Free and Reduced Meals eligibility as well our Transportation Department sharing information about Bus Services. Bus Registration is handled separately from the student enrollment process. The purpose of the centralized event is to allow families with multiple children to take care of each child’s registration at one time, in one location, and receive all the information they need to be prepared for the start of the new school year. The district will also have Bilingual staff on hand to translate and provide assistance as needed.
Returning HISD students will be required to complete the Back to School Online Student Registration process through InfoSnap again this year. The district will be sending out email notifications from HISDenrollment on Thursday, August 4, that will include re-registration instructions and unique snapcode/password information for each student. Emails will only be sent to parents/guardians of student who were enrolled on or before May 14, 2016. If a student was not enrolled on or before that date, they can still complete the InfoSnap Online process, but will need to contact their campus registrar to have a unique login generated for them. We appreciate all HISD parents/guardians for completing InfoSnap to ensure the district and campuses have the most current contact information on file for each student. If an email is not received, we ask that parents/guardians check their SPAM/JUNK folders first before contacting the child’s campus registrar for assistance. Anyone needing assistance with InfoSnap registration can stop by Huntsville High School Room 1902 on Saturday, August 6, from 8 AM to 12 PM where staff will be available to help. Additional assistance will be provided at HISD Transportation, 96 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, August 8 through August 12 from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM daily, or at any campuses starting August 15 during normal operating hours.
Any student entering 7th grade in the State of Texas is required to have additional required immunizations for admission to school. Parents can fax, or have the child’s doctor’s office fax the updated shot record to the Nurse at Mance Park Middle School at 936-435-6619. HISD asks parents/guardians to please take care of this important Back to School requirement now, so they can avoid delays or conflicts for the new year. For questions please call 936-435-6400.
