Atlantic Housing Foundation, Inc. (AHF) announced earlier this month that April 30th, 2017 will be the deadline to apply for a housing or academic scholarship for the Fall 2017 semester.
Each year, AHF awards collegiate scholarships to individuals from families below the HUD recommended Adjusted Median Income. In 2016, AHF awarded more than $600,000 in collegiate scholarships to 32 students, making the foundation’s total scholarship awards top $4.5 million since 2006.
The awarded scholarships can come in two different varieties; a housing scholarship or an academic scholarship. The academic scholarship is a traditional financial disbursement, while the housing scholarship grants the recipient free housing at qualifying schools throughout her/his college career.
In addition to academic and housing scholarships, The Sharon Murphy Excellence in Education Scholarship and The Sharon Whaley Scholarship for Educators are awarded each year to students seeking a career in education, as well as the Bart Marantz Legacy Scholarship for students studying the arts.
To apply, applicants are encouraged to visit www.atlantichousing.org/scholarships to print a copy of the application, and submit all requested documents to 5910 N. Central Expy. Ste. 1310 Dallas, TX 75206 by April 30th, 2017.
